Very Nervous

Ok, turns out I saved this as a draft instead of posting it so the next entry will sound funny, like I lost this one, but it has a redeeming quality so I'm going to put it back in.

So, I felt like a freight train today, barrelling along with the information. I had jazzed it up with some funny information on Yeltsin and a funny picture of a drunken, dancing Yeltsin. Oh! And the one triumph of the day was "A Man Like Putin." Seriously funny. I was sitting alone in my classroom researching Russian Government and I stumbled across this link to a media clip. I clicked it and on came this techno music...A girl is singing in Russian about Putin! I had no idea what it said but it cracked me up. I burst out laughing in my classroom, out loud, because someone had written a Techno song about Vladimir Putin. I sent it to my Russian-speaking student and when he emailed me back the translation we both had a good laugh. He said, and I quote, "HAHAHAHAHA! You made my weekend." This girl sings:

"My boyfriend got caught again... some stupid stuff
He got into a fight, got high on some weird drug
I got so fed up, I kicked him out
Now i want a man like Putin

A man like Putin, full of energy/strength
A man like Putin, who doesn't drink
A man like Putin, who wouldn't offend me

So I played the Putin Techno song for them today and they loved it.

Reflection: Very dissatisfied with the day, despite the fact I enjoyed the Putin Techno.
