A Colorful Summer Day

Today was great. I woke up early to the smell of summer wafting through my window and the sun shining in my room, making it happy-looking. I was sleeping my own bed for the first time in 6 months and life was good. Church was good. YoYo and Duane cracked me up, as usual. Today Pastor Gary gave them marshmallows in the children's message to make a point and the poor things had to sit there and try to pay attention the whole time while all they wanted to do was put the marshmallow in their mouth. It was so funny. YoYo kept putting it close to her mouth and opening it wide and then pulling the marshmallow away. A few times she sniffed it. Duane just kept staring at it, rolling it around. FINALLY, 10 minutes after giving the 6-year-old and 7-year-old the marshmallow...they were allowed to eat them and they had big huge grins on their faces. Those kids are so great.
After church Margie and I took a trip to Sumner to explore the little shops and to visit a huge nursery. It inspired us to plant things so we did. We went to Wal-Mart, spent much too much money on cute pots (I got one shaped like a tea cup!) and flowers and arranged flower masterpieces!
Reflection: Even though my summer is already relatively full (to which I frown greatly), I am happy that it is here already and I can enjoy it a little bit here and there!
